The behavior portrayed on the videotape being circulated by critics of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey^® was horrible and would not be condoned at Ringling Bros. If the tape is accurate, the actions would be in violation of Ringling Bros. strict animal care policies and would not be tolerated. We called on the Elephant Managers Association and the Outdoor Amusement Business Association as our industry watchdog organizations to take immediate and appropriate action regarding this matter. It is reprehensible and irresponsible for anyone to try to tie this footage to any other organization for political purposes.
