Feld Announces Summer Tour of Cleveland, Detroit Area, and Pittsburgh

VIENNA, VA -May 3, 2000 -Barnum's KaleidoscapeSM marked its first anniversary Sunday, April 30, as it closed out a hugely successful engagement at Soldier Field in Chicago. The show opened for its World Premiere in Century City on April 30, 1999, and has played across the country to enthusiastic audiences and rave reviews since that time.

"What an incredible inaugural year for Barnum's Kaleidoscape. When we premiered Barnum's Kaleidoscape last year in Los Angeles I believed that audiences would respond to this unique blend of the circus arts with the luxury and comfort of a theatre. We now know that people do indeed want to experience this other world we have created," said Kenneth Feld, Chairman of Feld Entertainment and Producer of Barnum's Kaleidoscape. Feld continued, "Barnum's Kaleidoscape marks our triumphant return to the business of tented shows and we will be in this business for a long time to come."

Barnum's Kaleidoscape will kick off its summer tour in Cleveland on May 13 at the Nautica Entertainment Complex in the Flats on the West Bank of the Cuyahoga River. The show will be in Cleveland until June 11 before going on to Southfield, MI. Following the Southfield engagement from June 23-July 16, Barnum's Kaleidoscape will move on to Pittsburgh, PA.

During the past year, Barnum's Kaleidoscape has played in the following cities: San Mateo (San Francisco); Minneapolis, MN; Austin, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Houston, TX and Dallas, TX. Barnum's Kaleidoscape marks the first time any Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® production has been presented in a tent in the United States since 1956.

Barnum's Kaleidoscape features the Clown of Clowns, David Larible, 1999 winner of the International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo Golden Clown Award and internationally recognized as the world's leading Renaissance clown. Joining David is an international array of superb artists who were hand-selected by Kenneth Feld not only for their amazing skills, but also for their incredible live performance talents.

Providing the most luxurious and intimate entertainment environment imaginable, Barnum's Kaleidoscape unfolds in a complex of three tents covering 15,000 square feet with 1,850 plush velvet "ringside" seats, including exclusive sofa seating for the ultimate viewing pleasure. With every seat within 50 feet of the circus ring, the show's "up close and personal" atmosphere actively engages audience members with the performers from the moment they enter the red-and-white tent.

A live orchestra, an original musical score, dramatic atmospheric lighting, hand-crafted designer sets and striking costumes enhance the two-hour production. As patrons arrive, they enter a reception tent with hardwood floors, a Dixieland style band, performers who meet and mingle, and the opportunity to purchase delectable food. This pre-show reception begins one hour before every show and is an opportunity for guests to talk with the circus stars. No other circus or theatrical experience provides patrons with a pre-show party and an opportunity to personally meet every performer.

Feld Entertainment® is the world's leading producer of live family entertainment and the parent company of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey®, Disney on IceSM, The Wizard of Oz on IceSM, Grease on IceSM and Siegfried & Roy® at the Mirage in Las Vegas. Feld Entertainment spectaculars have toured 44 countries and on six continents to date and are seen annually by close to 25 million people.
