July 2, 2001 - Vienna, VA-- Comic daredevil Bello Nock, star of the 131st Edition of The Greatest Show On Earth®, was named "America's Best Clown" by TIME Magazine today in the July 9th issue of the world renowned news source.

Chosen by TIME editors, Nock, a seventh generation circus performer, is heralded in the first issue of a multi-part series featuring "America's Best" and is profiled by award-winning new vaudevillian, Bill Irwin, for the news weekly. Says Irwin of the kinetic kid magnet, Nock, "Bello is one of the sunniest and most generous men I've ever known. There are only a few clowns I
love to see again and again, and Bello Nock is one of them. He is really, really good, and he has a really good time; his work fits the circus ring, and he loves the crowd. And his high-layout somersault with his pants falling off just really gets me, it always has."

Said Nock, when told of the choice, "I feel extremely blessed to receive recognition for doing something that I love as much as performing. Being singled out as the best in my field and headlining on Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, The Greatest Show On Earth, at age 32, is exciting AND scary because now I have to find a way to top myself! It's an incredible honor. Laughter is called God's good medicine, and I just hope I can spend my whole life spreading that gift to others."

Ringling Bros.' Producer, Kenneth Feld, expressed the delight shared by the two completely unique touring units of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, as well as the entire Feld Entertainment family, at the honor bestowed upon one of their stars. "We consider it our obligation to bring our audiences the very best entertainers the world has to offer, and we could not be more pleased for Bello, and for them, that TIME Magazine agrees! Bello is a great American performer. We are fortunate he will be with Ringling Bros., and thrilling his fans, for years to come," said Feld.
