The primary responsibility of this position is to serve as the semi-tractor driver for hauling trailers and containers within the Studio grounds and between our local off-site storage facilities. This includes coordinating DOT inspections and maintenance with various vendors. This position will also work with Domestic and International Transportation department coordinators and on-site Security personnel regarding logistics and storage of trailers. When there are times that there’s no activity related to trailer movement, this position will assume Studio Operations support duties as directed by the department manager as a secondary responsibility. This position will require periods of night and weekend over-time duties.

Essential Job Functions

Movement of trailers, chassis and containers from facility to storage location and vice versa.
Maintain semi-tractor and yard spotter in good working condition.
Communicate and coordinate with Transportation department and service providers regarding necessary repairs, tracking and inspections.
Fulfill maintenance related duties as assigned by manager.
Maintain logs of movements and locations of chassis, trailers, and containers.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
Class A CDL driver license
Recent (within last year) semi-trailer road experience
Heavy equipment and/or forklift certifications, training and experience handling

Skills and Abilities

Understanding and knowledge of semi-tractor equipment and maintenance
Ability to work with others to formulate logistical planning as it relates to trailer, chassis, and container movements
Must be organized in maintaining logs and producing reports on movements and locations
Ability to comfortably use typical maintenance tools and equipment
Forklift/Heavy equipment experience
