Senior Accountant - International

The Sr Accountant – International role is primarily responsible for month-end close procedures and quarterly deliverables related to the international financial statements, intercompany accounting, foreign currency translations and serve as lead for foreign audits.  
Essential Functions
  • Review, analyze, and reconcile general ledger activity and account balances relating to international activity in an accurate and timely manner.  Document and record necessary adjustment in accordance with established company policies, GAAP and IFRS.
  • Review and validation foreign currency translation entries and adjust as needed, including consolidation and/or elimination of intercompany balances.
  • Perform reviews of international financial statements and other operational reporting relating to consolidated operations.  Establish and maintain control procedures for compliance with GAAP/IFRS.  Responsible for earnings roll up and elimination entries between different legal entities.
  • Monitor the monthly international bank account reconciliation process in partnership with accounting and treasury.
  • Lead and coordinate the foreign audit processes.  Partner with auditors and local accountants to complete data gathering, testing procedures and financial statement issuance. 
  • Monitor and research changes in both GAAP and IFRS.  Partner with leadership to evaluate new business activities that could or should result in changes to intercompany transactions and/or accounting policies.
  • Collaborate with key business partners including Corporate Tax, FP&A, External Auditors and IT on international accounting and consolidations related matters.
  • Assist with other ad hoc audits and external reviews including Customs and Import / Export analyses.
  • Assist with ERP system testing and implementation projects as schedule permits.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • BS in Accounting required, MACC or MBA preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in corporate or public accounting.
  • Experience with international accounting/audit required.
  • Experience in a larger company environment with exposure to multi-level consolidations and international operations.
Skills & Abilities
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and major ERP software applications required. Experience with Infor is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a variety of team members in various departments along with a positive, customer service approach to accounting services.
  • Self-Starter with the ability to multi-task in a busy working environment and the ability to meet all regulatory deadlines.
  • In depth knowledge of technical accounting and research/documentation skills.
  • Proven experience in project management.
  • Foreign language skills a plus.
